When sitting down for a therapy session with me, a person may be seeking support with managing their anxiety. Anxiety presents itself uniquely to each person and often times people find it shows up in ways that impact their daily lives. Some have found that focusing on the to do list at work can become overwhelming, maintaining healthy relationships when it is hard to leave the house can feel isolating or taking trips to the grocery store may feel paralyzing. You are not alone and you do not have to walk into the arena alone to grapple with/manage your anxiety. Together we can identify and utilize your strengths, with the support of cognitive behavior therapy to develop healthy coping skills. This creates the space for you to put these coping skills into practice. With continued application of healthy coping skills peace can be found in the overwhelming, a sense of belonging can be found in the isolation and confidence can be found in the paralysis.

It is natural as a human to seek out ways to cope with life stressors or traumatic experiences. We want to move past or forget about the life event(s) that continue to cause uncomfortable emotions. Sometimes we can find ourselves using unhealthy coping skills to manage daily living. You are not alone. I specialize in supporting those experiencing challenges with substance use. In session we work together to identify the warning signs and triggers that have led to your patterns of use. When you identify the why you can start to heal in the now. We create a space for you to identify and develop healthy coping skills that will support you in the daily life stressors and begin the healing with uncomfortable emotions.
